Kanye West Disgraces The Hallowed Halls of Radio City

 

While Steven normally covers these kinds of incidents, I must take up  the flag in the honor of respect for decorum and the high standards of excellence we have come to expect from the Music Television Video channel!

In what was meant to be a straight-forward awards ceremony, professional “singer”, Kanye West, interrupted the award acceptance speech of an innocent white girl.

While the white girl in question, Taylor Swift, reacted with all the dignity that we could expect from someone in her position (by crying like a 19-year-old), I for one am appalled at the lack of respect Mr. West’s outburst shows toward the establishment that has stood as the very backbone of integrity in this country. 

The nation does not tune in by the hundreds to see a civilized discourse upon whose ring should be put where and whose poker face can or can not be read, only to see the entire scene devolve into a mockery of the very institution that has made the man a star. 

Expect his opponent, Taylor Swift, to sell over a million albums in the next 48 hours.

UPDATE: While Kanye West’s blog. seems to be doing some “updates”…  he has apparently issued an immediate apology, according to Rolling Stone:

“I’m sooooo sorry to taylor swift and her fans and her mom. I spoke to her mother right after and she said the same thing my mother would’ve said. She is very talented! I like the lyrics about being a cheerleader and she’s in the bleachers! …………………… i’m in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment!……………. beyonce’s video was the best of this decade! I’m sorry to my fans if I let you guys down! I’m sorry to my friends at mtv. I will apologize to taylor 2mrw. welcome to the real world! everybody wanna booooo me but i’m a fan of real pop culture! No disrespect but we watchin’ the show at the crib right now cause … well you know! i’m still happy for taylor! Boooyaaawwww! you are very very talented! I gave my awards to outkast when they deserved it over me… that’s what it is!! i’m not crazy yall, i’m just real. Sorry for that! I really feel bad for taylor and i’m sincerely sorry! Much respect!!”

I don’t know if I am too old, but none of this ee cummingsesque rant sounds like a sincere apology to me at all. I think he is lying.

Friends, I Can Remain Silent No Longer

 

Those of you who have been our most devout followers expressed sadness when I ceased posting earlier this year. It was an emotional decision that I felt I needed to make in order to maintain some sort of order in this uncertain and unsettling times.

When the faculty discovered that I had been exalting the ubermuster and it’s effects on pop-culture and politics, I was summarily dismissed, which forced me into a deep depression.

My former student, Stu Boeuf, held the torch for as long as he could. Unfortunately, we have lost touch over these past few months. I have combed twitter and this facebook to try to find a reconnection, but thus far have had little luck.

Eric, whom many of you have claimed to see from time-to-time in internet chatrooms and as a guest on many other “blogs”, is no longer speaking with me after a rant I made against his views on the validity of Harry Potter fan-fiction as actual literature. Eric, if you read this, I deeply regret my remarks and am truly sorry. What can I say? Sometimes it is difficult for this salty old professor to separate my personal beliefs from my academic background. If you could ever find it in your heart…

Alas, dear friends, this return to the interwave is not meant solely as a mea culpa.  These past months, have been difficult for me. I found work as a high school history teacher in Iowa. While it has been an eye-opening culture change from the safety of my university post, I find comfort in the fact that I still have a base from which to continue my research.

Until now, I have felt it important to keep my research to myself.

The world I am re-emerging into is vastly different from the world I left… even though it has not even been a lunar year.  It is that dialectic shift that has been the tremor to awaken my need to share my research. I have been maligned in the past as being “unreasonably conservative” and “antiquated”.  As much as I protested those labels then, it is clear to me now (after a review of my previous writings) that perhaps my critics were correct in their assessment. The difference is that my prior research sought to illuminate the forces of oppression. In that climate, the forces of oppression were strongly from the political left. 

I can remain silent no longer and this anniversary seems appropriate symbolically.

The POWERS have shifted and the inner-workings are becoming clear. It is now time that I re-emerge.

TIME Magazine is bringing the journalism, y’all!

Turns out, that the Obama team drinks Coca-Cola instead of Pepsi. Can you believe that shit?!

While Pepsi and their “choice of a new generation” mumbo jumbo have backed Barack with their latest “Hope” and “Yes You Can” ad campaigns in which the Pepsi logo is based around Obama’s famous  American flag “O” logo, it appears that the spokeswhore-in-Chief allows his staff their own choice of beverage.

Crazy.

Megan Fox Wakes Up, Realizes She’s Way too Hot for That Guy

The question as to where I have been ‘lo these many months can now finally be answered. I was engaged in what could be considered one of the most important tasks of all time. I, like men across this great world of ours, could not stand idly by and watch Megan Fox, one of the hottest women out there, throw it all away on a guy who didn’t even become a major “90210″ character until two or three seasons in (remember when David Silver palled around with the guy in the Lakers hat who eventually accidentally killed himself after having disappeared for like 10 episodes?).

Anyway, I have dedicated my time and unquestionable skills of subterfuge to work my way into the good graces of one Brian Austin Green (BAG if you’re nasty), all the while planting seeds of doubt in the beautiful head of his fiancée, Megan Fox. Well, dear readers, I am glad to say that my efforts were not fruitless. I gave up a substantial portion of 2008 and all of 2009 to date to set sweet Megan free, and finally, it has worked:

I trust the good people of Winnipeg above all others, so I know it is true.

Atlantis Revealed?!

Hardly.

Some internet wastrel thinks that he has discovered the fabled lost city of Atlantis… while searching on Google.

Google has denied this claim, saying that it appeared to be “sonar data”. 

Anyone who can actually use Google  knows that the supposed location (near Morocco?) is completely off-target. Plato is likely spinning in his ancient burial site.

Size Of Obama’s Package Scares Republicans

The legislators within the GOP have come out with full-force against Former-President-Elect, Barack Obama’s stimulation package, which could pledge up to 9,000 billion dollars to liberal hippie arboretums and gay zoos.

While true patriots like Glen Beck have strong opinions about Obama’s ideas, it is really the Great Logician, Rush Limbaugh, who has given us the most salient civilianangle on the great load that Obama is trying to choke down our throats.

For the sake of all that is holy, though, I hope that Mr. Limbaugh stays hidden behind his microphone. Those of you whom have studied know why I say this.

Larry King used to be a respected journalist. He is now Vince McMahon’s butt-boy.

An interview with Academy Award nominee, Mickey Rourke, devolved into Andy Kaufmanesque chicanery on live tv. Instead of David Lettermen doing the goading, we have a multiple Peabody award-winner.

It is a black day for journalism.

It wasn’t enough for  the mini-Obamas, Sasha and Malia, to “hang out” with noted trollop, Miley Cyrus. Now they are going to frolic around with magical wizards!!!

Harry Potter has invited the youngsters to dabble in the occult at fictional Hogwarts Academy!

I really wonder what those people who did NOT vote for him will think about this! Prepare for the air to be choked with smoke in the Bible belt as the youth gather to burn their beanie babies.

Garth Brooks To “Dixie Chick” Himself

 

Well, well, well… GARTH BROOKS, retired “singer”-cum-political activist, has chosen a pony in the race after all!

Perhaps McCain’s biker rally stunt wasn’t as effective amongst the faux-cowboy billionaire set as he might have hoped.

According to this article, Mr. Brooks will be performing at an inaugural event for President-ELECT, BARACK OBAMA on Sunday, which will be broadcast on HBO entitled “We Are One”. The symbology is staggering.  

I find it amazingly interesting that the other side has planted this news piece of Garth Brooks’ turncoatery in a fluff-piece about the participation of Tiger Woods (fellow Obama muslim).

This inaugural week is going to be a doozy. The blogs will buzz.
